I am fortunate to book weddings from a variety of sources - personal recommendation, venue referral, wedding fairs, and even Google (when I keep up to date with my blogging and keywording, that is!). But very occasionally, the opportunity to photograph someone's special day comes out of a chance meeting or friendship. Ali and Tommy's was one such occasion.
As some of you will know, I took the opportunity of a five-year family move to Florida to turn my passion for photography into a career. But there was life before photography, and one of my most rewarding and enjoyable jobs was as Trust Fundraiser for the local charity Worthing Churches Homeless Projects. Not long before I left my position to join my husband Stateside, a very lovely lady, Sue, joined the fundraising team as the Community Fundraising Manager. We barely got the chance to know each other, but on my return to the UK, some five and a half years later, I sought out Sue and asked her to call, should the charity have any need for a volunteer photographer.
I must remind Sue that the original offer still stands, because the call I got was actually about Sue's daughter, Ali, who was recently engaged to Tommy, and would I be available to meet up with them? Well, they say that what goes around, comes around. And not only did I end up photographing their beautiful September wedding at the stunning Long Furlong Barn, but I was subsequently asked to become a preferred supplier for the venue.
This Sunday I'm back at Long Furlong Barn for their supplier open day, and very much looking forward to meeting with couples considering this picturesque barn setting for their special day. So if you're one of those couples, or have recently got engaged and are simply looking for inspiration, I hope you'll enjoy the story of their day, as told though my images...
Thanks for viewing! And if you're getting married and like what you see, please read glowing reviews from recent wedding couples, and use the contact form to get in touch - I'd love to hear from you!
