I know, I know, I promised you autumnal colour this week, I'm sorry. But hey, I'm squeezing in a quick bit of ghoulish fun for Halloween - giving me a little more time to collect those Autumn leaves. Half term holidays do rather diminish my blog shooting time. Which is putting it mildly. And although I shot this week's blog in less than two minutes, I think you'll agree the images are none-the-less eye-catching and entering into the spirit of things (ha).

Hard to believe this is the same little girl who so beautifully graced my Poppy Fields Blog back in July. Hopefully no indication of what I've got to look forward to in her teenage years. In case you were wondering, she's a Zombie Sports Girl. Not entirely sure what that is, but I'm pretty sure she looks the part! It also perfectly fitted the remit of tearing up old clothes and not spending a fortune on a Halloween costume. My daughter always rises to a creative challenge!

Halloween seems to be gaining in popularity as a wedding day too - I've had no less than three enquiries for 31st October 2014 in the past two weeks! Not sure if it's to do with Halloween themed nuptials or simply a date when the venue was free, but if one of them turns into a booking, I'll let you know! In fact, with two firm bookings last week for stunning historic venues (The Worthing Dome and Explosion Museum in Gosport) and three new enquiries, I'm very excited about how my wedding calendar's shaping up for 2014. I'm not quite at the word of mouth referral stage I was at when I left Florida, but I'm pleased to report that I'm definitely on the way...

Also arranged a meeting next week with a representative from Loxley Colour - a great photographic lab who supply most of my marketing materials. I have in mind the perfect little brag book to give to my wedding couples, and I'm hoping Loxley will be able to help. I tend to find that if I really love a product, then my clients will too. It's got to be tactile, personal and just the right size, but above all, fun. My deluxe album is one serious bit of kit, but I want something else to complement it which gets my clients excited, and I'm optimistic the man from Loxley can deliver..... brides, watch this space!

What's really freaky is that those staring eyes aren't painted on. It's actually really hard to equate the person behind that cold hard stare with the little girl currently lying on the sofa in a furry mouse onesie. Definitely an actress in the making! Or a drama queen at any rate. I feel a new blog project coming on: The Tweenage Years....
