Week 50: A New Perspective on Shoreham Life

December 21, 2013  •  2 Comments

Hello and welcome to the 50th week of my 2013 Shoreham-by-Sea blog project!  Wow, what a year it's been!  And this morning I got my 300th Like on my Jenny Rutterford Photography facebook page - thanks guys, Merry Christmas to me!

I've just dropped off my husband, son and friends to the Crabtree for a swift pint before they head off to the Brighton & Hove Albion game against Huddersfield.  It's blowing an absolute hooley and the rain is coming down in sheets, but the boys still chose that in preference to helping me wrap presents.  And given that we're heading off for Christmas with the relatives tomorrow, forgive me if this week's blog is somewhat short on words.  I did write almost a complete dissertation on the subject of kinesiology last week after all.

So just enjoy your favourite Christmas tipple and soak up the early morning sunshine that us Shoreham-ites enjoyed earlier in the week. And if you recognise your silhouetted self from the morning of Wednesday Dec 18th, and remember seeing a blond in a bobble hat with a camera and tripod, please do get in touch!  I was so chuffed when the kitesurfer I photographed in action back in Week 20 recently found the images I took of him on Google.  So lovely to have the opportunity to thank him for unknowingly providing great content for my blog, and of course to oblige his request for the full res. images.

Gotta love this man's sense of humour!  The last guys that pulled a similar stunt in front of my camera were completely obliterated by a long exposure in my bid to capture the Christmas lights (Week 48 if you missed it).  This time, the man maketh the image:  I'd love to be able to thank the person who unwittingly picked the perfect pose to echo the bridge's architectural lines.  Not easy in silhouette, I realise, but if you think you know him....

It just remains for me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I'll see you in a week's time!  Yes, holiday or no holiday, the blog must go on!  So when you need a little time out from the relatives, and can't face another mince pie, log on instead for some inspiration from nature and a beautiful touch of frost.

Jenny x
