Today I am excited to blog Natalie and Katherine's super-chilled Summer wedding at Bracklesham Barn in East Wittering. This lovely couple live literally just down the road from me, and when we first met to discuss their day, we hit it off immediately! They shared their plans for an outdoor picnic kind of a day, and showed me photos of their gorgeous wedding gowns. They also apologetically admitted that they both hated having their photo taken, but I assured them they'd hardly notice me on the day, and that the pre-wedding shoot would help put them at ease.
They had rented a beautiful seaside cottage for the bridal prep, right on the beach, with relaxed, ocean-inspired decor. The tradition of not seeing each other on the morning of the wedding wasn't for them, which made for a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in the cottage with the two brides, their sisters (also bridesmaids) and their partners sharing the space.
The ceremony itself was simply lovely, with the registrar's slip of the tongue in pronouncing them man and wife resulting in raucous laughter from all! After the confetti arch, the guests headed outside to enjoy the sunshine while the bridal party (including the brides!) transformed the ceremony room into a reception space, with each place setting receiving a packet of wild seeds and free drink token. It was simple but perfect for the relaxed vibe of the venue and how these lovely brides wanted to spend their special day. Giant Jenga, balls and space hoppers kept the little (and not so little) ones happy, and food was a delicious barbecue, served outside.
Nat and Kat did opt for the cake cutting and First Dance traditions, followed by a lot of crazy antics on the dance floor (the Macarena was especially fun to capture!). Given how lovely the weather had been all day, I managed to persuade the newlyweds to head down to the beach with me before sunset for just a little walk and a few photos of their first day as wife and wife. We were rewarded with these simply amazing skies - the absolutely perfect end to their perfect day.
We just wanted to send you this email to tell you how much we appreciate everything you did to make sure our wedding day was beautifully captured.
You were approachable and kind at every stage, even when we complained that we usually hate having our photos taken!
The shots that you have given us are all beautiful, and we couldn't have asked for anything better. They are absolutely stunning, and will give us memories to treasure for a lifetime.
Thank you so much for everything.
Love Kat and Nat xx
