The first time I photographed a wedding at Long Furlong Barn was in 2014, shortly after its launch as a wedding venue. I was blown away by the picturesque grounds and stunning views across the South Downs, complete with grazing sheep and, on that occasion at least, a perfect sunset. I've since returned many times for weddings at all times of the year and have never failed to be inspired by my surroundings, even when mother nature hasn't always played ball.
I first met Adele and Glyn literally four months before their September wedding - they were looking for a documentary-style wedding photographer familiar with Long Furlong Barn, and owing to a late date change from the couple I had booked in already, I had recently become available. It was meant to be!
On the day itself, the venue was beautifully styled by local company Hire Your Day, and the couple had also hired giant "Love" letters from the Giant Letter Company. Florist Karen of Bride and Bloom provided stunning bouquets for the bride, flower girl and two adult bridesmaids, plus buttonholes for the men and the couple's young son. The bride herself, Adele, looked absolutely amazing in a gorgeous fishtail wedding gown from Worthing based bridal boutique Whyte Weddings, finished off with a veil and fabulous Betsey Johnson designer shoes.
We were blessed with the most glorious late Summer sunset and the newlyweds didn't take much persuading to head out into the fields for a few extra couple photos. But the majority of the day was captured candidly, with plenty of laughter and games. Giant Jenga, Swingball and a huge deck of cards kept the kids amused and made for some great moments. Circa Events provided delicious BBQ style food, including burgers and prawn & vegetable skewers, and I had great fun capturing reactions to the hilarious speeches afterwards. The day ended to the tunes of Sound Division, with some pretty nifty dance moves by Adele and Glyn!
"Jenny was in touch with us right from booking up until the day. On the wedding day Jenny arrived early and made us feel at ease, she spent the morning candidly photographing the barn and myself with the bridesmaids. She was never far from us all day and captured the most amazing moments!
When the images were ready, Jenny came to our house and played us a wonderful slideshow. All the images were presented in the most beautiful presentation box.
Thank you so much Jenny"

I'm very much looking forward to returning to this fab venue this Summer, kicking off with Lindsey and James' wedding in June.
