Sussex is spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning wedding venues and attracts plenty of London-based couples looking for something different. The short drive south is more than compensated for by the beauty of the South Downs and the sea views, not to mention ease of parking and affordable accommodation options for guests. I've photographed the weddings of many London couples who've chosen Sussex for their special day, including the lovely Katy and Raj, who fell in love with the unique architecture of Worthing Dome and its perfect coastal location.
I'm not sure whether Katy's choice of an art-deco themed wedding was inspired by Worthing Dome, or whether she found the venue to match her ideas, but either way, the choice was simply perfect. Decor provided by local company To Have and To Hire included giant feather centrepieces in black and white, 1920s touches such as vintage radio and typewriter, and splashes of gold via table runners and candle holders.
Katy herself looked absolutely stunning in a 1920s inspired white sequinned gown, art-deco style earrings and a veil with lace edging to match. Bright red lipstick, eyeliner and a waved updo hairstyle completed the look, created by the very talented Kitty Boo Creative. A few years back, Kitty actually made up my daughter and her friends in a vintage style for my daughter's 10th birthday party, followed by a vintage styled photoshoot (yep, got roped into that one!) on Shoreham beach. The girls looked absolutely amazing and it went down as one of the most successful parties she's ever had. So it was lovely to work with Kitty again at the nearby Burlington Hotel where Katy's bridal prep took place.
The groom, Raj, was equally well attired, with a white tuxedo and contrast black lapel and bowtie. The groomsmen sported gold coloured ties in keeping with the theme, while many of Raj's family members wore colourful saris and jewels, which added to the feeling of opulence and luxury.
Lilies in vases, a white rose arrangement for the ceremony table, plus Katy's gorgeous bouquet were created by local florist Nell of Nell's Flowers, who I've worked with on several occasions and highly recommend.
And last but not least, the cake - a magnificent art-deco styled creation by Brighton Cakes (who also made a fab pug cake for my daughter's 13th!)

"Amazing! From our first meet with Jenny, to putting my wife at ease on the pre-shoot, to helping me find the rings I nearly lost on the day (!) and of course the photos of the day itself. We have an amazing collection of photos of our special day. Thank you!
Also so much great feedback from our guests on how unobtrusive Jenny was, and how friendly she was. Highest recommendation."
