Hello and welcome to my Blog! As I write, the world is in lockdown from the Coronavirus pandemic and weddings are well and truly off the agenda for the next few weeks at least. I'm happy to say that all of my Spring 2020 couples have managed to reschedule with their venues, and most have chosen new dates that I'm still available for. But I have to admit, I feel sad when I see all the crossed out lines and question marks over the many weddings and pre-wedding shoots I had booked in for the next couple of months. It's this time of year when I typically come out of Winter hibernation and get excited to meet up with my couples and get creative again.

I did manage to capture my first wedding of the season just before Covid-19 abruptly stopped play, the editing of which has given me purpose and more than a few laughs along the way (it was a super fun wedding and an absolute joy to capture!) But now I have to dig deep and find new ways to get creative, which I'll admit is proving tricky. Many of my photographer friends are taking great images of their children in quarantine. Cute captures of kids jumping around with Joe Wicks or other homeschooling antics. I can't quite find the right angle for capturing two teens who were supposed to be revising for their A levels and GCSEs and now spend a lot of time xboxing or facetiming. No, I'll need to come up with a plan B.
Blogging isn't exactly the first thing that sprung to mind as I gave my new normal some thought yesterday. But whilst it may not be the most exciting of tasks, it is still one of the best ways to show newly engaged couples how I shoot weddings. It ultimately ensures that the right couples find and book me - couples who want a relaxed and unobtrusive photographer and happy, candid images that tell the story of their day. And weddings will happen again! So whilst I can't create fresh content right now, I can showcase more of the many amazing weddings I've captured over the last 18 months.
With many of my Spring couples rebooking for Autumn/Winter, where better to start than with a super chilled late October wedding? Jane and Dave's special day at stunning Lusty Glaze Beach in Cornwall was as relaxed as it gets, with beach games providing entertainment for guests of all generations. I spent a great deal of my day kneeling in sand or with wet feet which, as regular readers of my blog will know, is par for the course!
